About this tool

Image formats are a genuine mess, and the mess has practical consequences: a HEIC photo from an iPhone will not open on a Windows machine, a 40 MB TIFF will not attach to an email, and an AVIF that looks perfect in Chrome may need a JPG fallback for a client still on ancient software.

This converter handles the whole common matrix — JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, SVG and HEIC — using WebAssembly builds of the reference encoders. Everything happens locally, which means no queue, no upload progress bar, and no daily limit. Drop in fifty files and they all convert.

Questions

Can you convert HEIC files from my iPhone?
Yes. HEIC and HEIF are decoded in-browser with libheif compiled to WebAssembly, so photos straight from an iPhone convert to JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF without any upload. This is one of the most common reasons people end up here.
Why is my transparent PNG turning white when I convert to JPG?
The JPG format has no concept of transparency — every pixel must have a colour. Transparent regions therefore get filled, and white is the default. Use the background colour control to pick something else, or convert to PNG, WebP or AVIF if you need to keep the transparency.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Drop in as many images as you like and they are processed one after another on your own machine, then offered as a single ZIP. There is no per-day quota because there is no server cost for us to protect.
