Video watermarking and logo placement are common post-production steps, whether you are adding a channel bug to a recording, branding screen captures for a presentation, or protecting footage before sharing a preview. Opacity is the main quality lever — a fully opaque logo in the corner is easily cropped out, while a semi-transparent tiled pattern is much harder to remove.
PNG with alpha is the right image format for this purpose. A logo exported as a PNG with transparency composites cleanly over the video background without any rectangular halo, which is what makes it look intentional rather than pasted on.
Questions
What image format should I use for the overlay?
PNG with a transparent background is ideal — the tool will composite it correctly over the video and you will not get a white or black box around the image. JPEG overlays are supported but will have square edges.
Can I make the logo appear and disappear at a specific time?
Yes. Set the "show from" and "show until" seconds to create a timed overlay. This requires re-encoding the affected section regardless.
