About this tool

Looping is most useful when you have a clip intended for background playback — a video wallpaper, an ambient scene for a stream overlay, or a short clip that has to fill a defined slot in a presentation. Repeating it by count is straightforward. Target duration is more useful when the slot has a fixed length and you want the clip to fill it without a gap at the end, regardless of how the clip duration divides into it.

The file gets larger proportionally, because stream copy does not compress the repeated sections against each other — each copy of the video is an independent segment. If file size matters, consider compressing the output afterward using the video compress tool.

Questions

Will the loop look seamless?
Seamlessness depends on the source clip. If the first and last frames match (a clip specifically designed to loop) the join will be invisible. If they do not match there will be a visible cut at each loop point. This tool cannot create a loop from content that was not shot with looping in mind — it simply concatenates copies of the file.
Is this different from a GIF loop?
Yes. This produces an actual video file where the frames are literally repeated. A GIF loop is a metadata flag — the same single-copy data plays in a cycle. This tool duplicates the frame data, so a 3× loop at 10 MB produces roughly a 30 MB file.
